In her mail call concerning the hate crime committed close to campus, Reed states, "I am embarrassed to know that members of our Aggie community could commit such heinous and misguided acts." I want it to be completely clear that it has not been substantiated that the act involved Texas A&M students. I will not rule this out, but no evidence has been released for or against this statement. Ravi Mallipeddi deserves an extended hand, and for that, Katie is more than correct. Whatever he needs in order to clarify this situation should be offered him, but Ravi even states in an e-mail he sent to a listserv: "When I tried to read their license plate, all I could see was a dark border without any visible letters within it."
Any Aggies who hear of anything concerning this situation should come forward. Acts like this not only affect our campus lives, but the academic atmosphere for future generations of Ags, as well as our children. Let's do all we can to prevent more ignorant acts from surfacing.
