Sam Russell, a sophomore aerospace engineering major from the introductory aerospace engineering class launches a rubber-band-powered balsa wood kit airplane at an AIAA fly-off Thursday morning in G. Rollie White Coliseum. Three AIAA representatives judged the students in categories ranging from "farthest flight" to "best crash and burn."
