Nuclear engineering department appoints head

Raymond Juzaitis has been appointed head of the Department of Nuclear Engineering, effective Aug. 15.
Juzaitis will also act as director for the Nuclear Engineering Division of the Texas Engineering Experiment Station.
Prior to his appointment, Juzaitis served as associate director of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, which is a member of the National Nuclear Security Administration operated by the University of California.
Juzaitis has 28 years of experience with national security research and development programs at the Department of Energy National Laboratories and is the recipient of three Department of Energy weapons excellence awards.
He received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Princeton University and his master's and doctorate in nuclear engineering from the University of Virginia.
