$150,000 adds to Corps scholarship

Genevieve and John H. Parker, Class of 1943, established the Genevieve and John H. Parker '43 Corps of Cadets 21st Century Scholarship with a $100,000 contribution to the Texas A&M Foundation.

Parker, a Bryan native, was a member of A-Battery Field Artillery and majored in accounting.

Jesse E. and Fairfax Hendricks established the Fairfax and Jesse E. Hendricks '37 Corps of Cadets 21st Century Scholarship with a $50,000 contribution to the Texas A&M Foundation.

Jesse E. Hendricks graduated from A&M with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. The Hendricks currently reside in Duncanville, Texas.

The Corps 21st Century Scholarship (Corps 21) provides a $5,000 per-year stipend to the recipient and is funded with a $100,000 endowment. The scholarship is based on merit and financial aid.

The Commandant of the Corps of Cadets awards the Corp s21 scholarship to the top students within the Corps. The creation of the scholarship was announced November 2006.
