In an accident that took place on University Drive near the Houston Street intersection, a female driver of a silver Mazda rear-ended a gold Taurus and wedged her car underneath it, said Amber Clayton, a witness to the accident.

The driver of the Taurus slammed on his brakes and bumped a car in front of him, and the Mazda collided and wedged itself underneath the Taurus, said Sgt. Mike Pavelka of the College Station Police Department.

"The [driver] in the third car had to be extricated by the fire department and taken for treatment," he said. "Her injuries didn't seem life threatening."

The driver of the silver Mazda was trapped in her car for nearly 45 minutes, Clayton said.

"The girl in the silver Mazda was going pretty fast down University and both lights were green on Houston and Asbury, but I don't think she realized the light on Asbury had just turned green," she said.

An emergency medical technician ran up to the scene after the incident occurred and stayed with the Mazda's driver while she was trapped, said Kayla Quinn, another witness.

"This guy came up with an EMT bag and he stayed with her and held her neck," she said.

The other drivers didn't appear to be injured, Clayton said.

"The driver of the (Taurus) just opened his door and jumped out," she said. "You could tell fromm his expression that he was shocked about it."

I'm glad to read that nobody was seriously hurt. That being said, this is hillarious. How fast do you have to be speeding to literally drive your car under someone else's?

It would be interesting to know is either driver was using a cellphone at the time of the collision. Does the investigating officer determine if a cellphone was involved?
