The drive, conducted by the Texas A&M Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, SAAC, and Aggie Athletes Involved, will benefit the Brazos Valley Food Bank.
To participate, football fans can drop off cans of food or contribute money at the OSU game.
Volunteers will wear lime green shirts that bearing the slogan "Aggies CAN" to designate the drop-off locations. "Aggies CAN" wrist bands will be sold for $1 each.
Student-athlete volunteers will collect donations throughout Kyle Field from 3:30 p.m. to kickoff at 6:30 p.m. A tent will be set up outside the Zone of Kyle Field as the main drop-off location.
Kyle Holland, a junior construction science major, is the president elect of SAAC and chairmain of the food drive this year.
"The biggest way students can help is to donate canned goods or donate money," Holland said. "We are collecting backpacks as well, so if students have extra backpacks, they will be filled with food and given to the children on Fridays so they can have meals for the weekends."
On Monday, the Brazos Valley Food Drive will pick up the cans collected and take the donations to its facilities.
"Each year, we've gotten more [supplies] compared to the first year we've started," Holland said. "There's been a steady increase of cans. We benefited mostly last year from the monetary donations and the food backpacks."
Holland said there will be about 1,500 student-athletes waiting for donations.
