A Texas A&M student called University Police Department and reported being a victim of a robbery Saturday.
The student parked in lot 40 and was walking toward her residence hall when two black males approached her from behind.
The males demanded her purse and one pointed a handgun at the victim. After taking the victim's purse, the suspects fled. The student was not injured and reported the incident when she arrived at her dorm room.
Shortly before the robbery, University Police officers were dispatched to parking lot 40 to investigate a report that two African American males were believed to be burglarizing vehicles.
A timely warning from UPD stated, "While in lot 40, a University Police Bicycle officer observed a vehicle backing from a parking space and recognized the driver's clothing as matching the description of one of the burglary suspects. The officer shined his flashlight into the vehicle and ordered the driver to stop."
The vehicle, described as a newer silver Cadillac with license plates from a dealer, continued to back out of the spot and hit the officer and his bicycle. The officer was later released from College Station Medical Center.
University and College Station Police officers continued to pursue the suspect vehicle through College Station and into Navasota. The suspects abandoned their vehicle in Navasota and fled on foot where one suspect, Isiah Delance Holden of Houston, was apprehended.
UPD is currently investigating both the aggravated robbery and the motor vehicle burglaries.
