For one day this weekend there will be a campus-wide open house in Aggieland. Feb. 16 will be Aggieland Saturday, a day full of events prospective students and their families can attend to learn more about Texas A&M University.
"It is an event for prospective students, anyone from future freshmen to transfer students. It is for anyone and everyone interested in Texas A&M," said Krista Brod, program coordinator for admissions counseling.
On Saturday there will be many events including presentations and tours put on by every college in the University, as well as sporting events. The visitors have the option of creating their own schedule to see what interests them most.
The Aggieland Saturday website advertises this day by saying, "During this one day, you can meet current students, tour the dorms, visit libraries and computer labs and see what Texas A&M has to offer you."
This is not just a campus tour. It is an opportunity for prospective students to see the campus in action and eat at the dining halls with students. It is a chance for them to be convinced to come to A&M.
Aggieland Saturday is an annual event. This year it is sponsored by the Association of Former Students. More information is available at www.tamu.edu/aggiesaturday.
