Editorial | Mark Gold best choice
With three years in Student Government, Mark already knows his way around the system and was best able to provide concrete examples of how to fix problems at Texas A&M. He provided three ideas on improving safety - utilizing Code Maroon, increasing lighting in trouble spots and increasing the number of emergency phones on campus.
Mark is the most approachable of the candidates and has a clear passion for A&M and the student body, making him more likely to be able to fulfill the promise of taking the office of SBP outside the walls of Koldus. He clearly understands that the role of the SBP is not to enforce his own ideas, but to represent the student body to the administration.
The Battalion's endorsement is based in part on interviews conducted with all candidates.
