As of August 2008, about $550 billion had been spent on the Iraq War. This equates $2 billion a week according to the congressional research service. With a population of 305 million, that makes for a war bill of $1,803 per American. This only takes into account money spent up until now, and ignores all future expenses and healthcare costs for veterans of the war. In 2003, the White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mitch Daniels said the total cost of the war would be $60 billion. Next time you hear politicians pitching around costs of a war, you should know that they might be a bit inaccurate in their predictions.

You should ask yourself if that is enough to pay for your life. If it's too much, then go ask for a refund and the U.S. will be happy not to pay for your individual protection. (Continued…)
