The Texas A&M Men's basketball team lost Monday night to the Kansas Jayhawks, 73-53, at the Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas.

The Aggies (15-4, 1-3) went into Monday night's game looking to repeat the results of their previous visit to Lawrence two year ago, when A&M became the first Big 12 South team to win at Allen Fieldhouse.

The Jayhawks (14-4, 3-0) had four players score double-digit points as they continued their unbeaten start to conference play.

In a game where A&M never challenged the Kansas lead, the Jayhawks opened the first half with back-to-back 3-pointers from junior Sherron Collins. Kansas started the game with an 8-0 run.

Kansas pulled ahead quickly with a 14-point lead ten minutes into the game, and a 31-10 lead at the seven-minute mark. The Jayhawks led 40-23 at halftime.

The Aggies shot 39 percent from the field and committed 13 turnovers, while the Jayhawks shot 57 percent and had four turnovers.

A&M continued to struggle in the second half, shooting 29 percent from the field and failing to mount a serious comeback against the Jayhawks.

Leading the way for the Aggies was junior Bryan Davis with eight points and six rebounds, and sophomore B.J. Holmes with eight points.

The Jayhawks were led by Collins with 16 points and six assists, and sophomore Cole Aldrich also contributed 16 points while pulling down eight rebounds.

Junior Mario Little added 15 points, while freshman Marcus Morris chipped in 10 points.

A&M made 32 percent of its shots in the game, while Kansas made 52 percent.

The Aggies will return to the court on Saturday to take on No. 14 Texas in Austin.
