Change
we can't even see (yet)

That's when I realized I had been lied to.
The thing is, yesterday I woke up, got out of bed and dragged a comb across my head. It's the same story the day before and the day before. You see the problem now, don't you?
A certain "someone" promised me change, and I'm typically not one to finger-point, but *cough* Obama *cough* is a big fat phony liar. I want my change and I want it now.
I spent all morning looking for it, but it's simply nowhere to be found. For a moment, I thought I had found it when I read there was a ceasefire between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
Peace in the Middle East, I thought, that's a good start for change. But then I realized the ceasefire has been in place since Saturday, and apparently a "ceasefire" doesn't mean anyone has to cease firing.
Dejected, I recognized that I was still going to have to go to school.
Devastated, I realized I still needed to graduate and find a job.
Defeated, I looked at my surroundings and found that everything was the same.
There wasn't one iota of change to be found anywhere, not even under the couch cushions where it usually hides.
Before I signed off on life and put myself in a coma to avoid four years of disappointment, I consulted an expert to determine if maybe this lack of change was just a temporary thing. I mean, change can take time, so maybe I could expect it tomorrow or later this week.
Jon Bond, a political science professor at Texas A&M, said he couldn't predict when the change Obama has promised might begin to take place.
"It depends a lot on the president," Bond said. "Some presidents get off to a faster start than others, and you've also got the context. A lot of the campaign promises made were made before this huge economic problem came up. Obama said that will be the number one priority, and other things will have to wait."
Nobody knows when this change will arrive? Are you kidding me? For all I know, it might not even arrive this year. Even I can promise the sheets on my bed will eventually be changed at some point during the year.
