Yes, Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream where his children would "not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." But is Barack Obama really the fulfillment of that dream? If everything about him were the same, except he were white, the rhetoric spoken about him would be far different. So, even those who praise him are still doing it to a large degree based on the color of his skin. Only when President Obama is talked about as simply a president, no more special or different than any of the 43 before him, and not as a black president, will Martin Luther King, Jr.'s dream have come to pass. But that day is not today.
