As many of you no doubt know, on Jan. 27, 2001, 10 members of the OSU family died in a plane crash returning from a men's basketball game at the University of Colorado. At the women's game against the Aggies, on Jan. 24, 2009, a moment of silence was held before tip off of what proved to be an exciting game. But what few know is that the women's team took the time to lay an orange rose at each of the individual memorials along with a bundle of roses at the center marker with an attached card. It was a small but very thoughtful gesture that epitomizes the best parts of college sports. I personally would like to thank the program and university for their class, and wish the team the best of luck for the remainder of the season (though I do hope future meetings between our teams go a bit better).
