In response to "Women's team deserves more student support." I just read your article on this subject and could not agree more. I drove down this past weekend from the Dallas area with a friend to see the men's game (vs. K-State) on Saturday and the women's game (vs. Nebraska) on Sunday. Though the local turnout for the women's game was good, there was a very disappointing turnout from the students. The women's team plays an exciting brand of basketball with great effort. Coach Gary Blair has assembled a cast of high character, skilled players who genuinely like playing the game together. They are a team in every respect, and going to a game is a great entertainment value. Blair was in the stands before the game handing out candy in his amiable way to encourage support for the team. All the ingredients are there and they deserve better support from the students, especially because of their ranking and postseason possibilities. That support should be there for Nebraska and Colorado too, not just t.u., Oklahoma and Baylor. The next time they are on TV, I hope to see a lot more students in the stands.
