The Texas A&M and Texas men's basketball teams will meet for the 215th edition of the Lone Star rivalry on Monday at Reed Arena.

Though the Longhorns lead the all-time series 131-83, A&M is 53-50 when playing in College Station.

The Aggies are 17-8 overall, 3-7 in Big 12 play and are on a three-game losing streak. A&M has not lost to Texas at home in four years, but the Aggies have also not been on a losing streak before facing Texas at home during the span.

Texas is 17-7 overall, 6-4 in the Big 12 and on a two-game winning streak, including an 85-76 overtime win at Colorado, after dropping its three previous games.

The Aggies have split the regular season series with the Longhorns in the previous four years, losing in Austin each season. A&M dropped the road trip to Texas in 2009, losing 67-58 on Jan. 24.

In the game, the Aggies trailed the Longhorns 30-28 at halftime. But Texas junior forward Damion James, who led the Longhorns with 13 points in the first half, kept making shots, posting 15 points in the second half. Behind James' 28 points, Texas won the game 67-58.

A&M is coming off a 72-68 road loss to Baylor on Saturday. The Aggies trailed 70-68 with 12.6 seconds

remaining in the game against the Bears after junior guard Donald Sloan hit a 3-pointer. But the Aggies couldn't overcome Baylor senior guard Curtis Jerrells, who hit a jump shot to stop the rally.

For the third time in 2009, the Aggies had two days to
recover from a Saturday game to play again on Monday. A&M Head Coach Mark Turgeon said he did not see the short turnaround as an issue for the team.

"Having played Texas two or three weeks ago, I don't think it's will be that hard," Turgeon said. "I haven't seen Texas since we played them. I'm sure they're doing things differently."

The Aggies are 13-2 at home this season and the Longhorns are 4-3 in road games. Monday's game will be the first time Texas has traveled to Reed Arena without a ranking since 2002.

"Hopefully, and it probably goes without saying since we're playing Texas, we're going to have a big crowd," Turgeon said. "I think our fans have been fantastic all year and we can show them what we're all about."
