Texas A&M senior guard Josh Carter hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lead the Aggies past Nebraska 57-55 on Tuesday at Nebraska.

The Aggies (20-8, 6-7) came into the game riding a two-game winning streak. The Cornhuskers (16-10, 6-7) entered the game having dropped two of their previous three games.

The first half began slow for both teams, and after a 3-pointer by Carter the Aggies went scoreless for nearly four minutes

Sophomore guard B.J. Holmes hit a shot beyond the arc to tie the game at 18-18 with 9:15 remaining in the half. The Cornhuskers defense stiffened then, outscoring A&M 19-6 to close the half with a 37-24 lead.

In the first five minutes of the second half, the Aggies were unable to get going offensively. Nebraska built its lead to 46-30.

In the next six minutes, the A&M offense came alive and pulled to within single digits that were capped off when freshman point guard Dash Harris stole the ball from Nebraska sophomore guard Cookie Miller, and was fouled during a dunk.

The Aggies tightened the score at the 5:04 mark when sophomore forward Nathan Walkup scored on a layup. A&M made it a one-possession game after another Holmes 3-pointer at 1:11.

A free throw by Nebraska senior Abe Dagunduro gave the Cornhuskers a 55-52 advantage, and Holmes came up short on another three-point attempt. Senior forward Bryan Davis was waiting, though, as he pulled down the offensive rebound and laid the ball in to make it a one-point game with 53 seconds remaining.

Following a foul by Sloan that put Miller on the free throw line, the Huskers had a chance to pull ahead to a three-point lead, but Miller missed the one-and-one, and Davis pulled in the rebound.

After a tussle and a missed layup by Sloan, Walkup inbounded the ball to Carter with two seconds remaining, who buried the shot to complete the 18-point comeback for the Aggies.

Carter led the way for the Aggies with 11 points and was 3-for-3 from behind the 3-point arc and pulled down nine rebounds. Senior forward Bryan Davis scored 10 points.
