MAIL CALL

I have read the article titled "Truth," and in this article there were many flaws of which agitated me so much that I must address them. The first problem I found with the article was a minute inaccuracy which said, and I quote, "the July 21 letter rescinding Murano's offer to Weber" This inaccurately describes Murano's action and what she had said in her letter, which was "… I have decided to put a hold on your appointment…" This "putting a hold on" implies that she still wanted him to be nominated, where "rescind" implies, according to Merriam-Webster, "to take back" or "to make void." Next was that throughout the entire article you interviewed only a single person, who in essence, formulated a generalization, based on the data of 20 to 30 students who "represented several aspects of the student body." Anyone who has ever taken a statistics class or even some political science classes knows that 20 to 30 students cannot accurately represent 43,000 plus students.
