Today when I saw the article "All students need to work together to improve A&M" I hoped it would focus on why members of the Corps and non-regs should put aside differences. After reading the first paragraph I was appalled. The author instead focused his article on why the student body was wrong for electing a non-reg yell leader. How will telling me that I should only support the Corps lead to a more unified student body? I am proud to see a non-reg hold the position of yell leader as I enter my senior year. Reagan Thompson ran a clean campaign TWICE. He worked harder than any candidate I have seen and deserves to be a yell leader. Implying that he only ran for the title is ludicrous. The Corps should not see Reagan's election as a "slap in the face." This will only lead to more division. They should instead see Reagan's election as an opportunity for the corps and non-regs to come together. I remember the disrespect corps members treated Chris Buckner with three years ago and deeply hope they will show Reagan the same respect they show their own next year.
