With an eye on staying in the race to the Big 12 Championship, No. 16 Texas A&M continued its inconsistent play this past weekend, which has plagued the team in the 2009 season. In a three-game series at Kansas State, the Aggies went 1-2 against the Wildcats, losing their second consecutive conference series and third in 2009. A&M fell to 21-14 overall and 8-7 in conference play. Aggies' sophomore pitcher Brooks Raley highlighted the first game of the series, a 4-2 win, with 11 strikeouts in a complete game effort. In the second game junior fireballer Alex Wilson struck out 10 Wildcats, but A&M struggled to answer early Kansas State runs, losing 6-4. The Aggies had a chance to put away the series with a win in the rubber match on Saturday, but Kansas State rallied in the ninth inning for a 4-3 win. A&M led 3-2 going into the ninth inning, but the Wildcats scored two runs to take the game and the series.
