Beckham urges participation in Executive Council

Student body president-elect Eric Beckham is calling on students to apply for positions on the 2009-2010 Executive Council. Students can apply for open positions, which include Executive Council top staff, Executive Council student advocates, and University committee representatives. The top staff of the council includes the executive vice president, chief of staff and campus liaison. Student advocates are chosen for academic affairs, student services, legislative relations, community relations, development, finance, Student Government Association liaison, diversity commissioner and election commissioner.Representatives are chosen for 21 committees. "Executive Council is a great way to help determine the vision and direction of our Student Government Association, which ultimately guides the student body in the coming year," Beckham said. "My hope for SGA leadership is to create a team of driven individuals of like mind and heart." Applications are available online at http://sga.tamu.edu/. Top staff applications are due 8 p.m. Wednesday, and other applications are due 5 p.m. Friday. Applications should be turned in at the Student Activities box in the Koldus Building.
