Texas A&M's seventh ranked doubles team of Conor Pollock and Austin Krajicek saw their season end a little earlier than expected 6-4, 6-4 at the hands of the seventeenth ranked North Carolina team of Clay Donato and Taylor Fogleman in the elite eight of the NCAA Championships.

The Aggie tandem was trying to match their run from a season ago when they made it to the national semifinals in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"We obviously didn't play our best," said Krajicek to AggieAthletics.com. "Give them credit. They didn't let us get into a rhythm. We had our opportunities in the first set and we just let it slip," "Obviously, we wanted to make it a little further in this tournament, but that's the way it goes."

The two end their season with a dual record of 22-5 ranking them as the fifth best for most single season victories in Texas A&M history. The quarterfinal appearance compiled with their ranking earned Pollock and Krajicek a spot on the All-American team.

On the singles side of the tournament, seventeenth ranked Conor Pollock had a chance to make it to the national semifinal. His tournament ended 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 at the hands of fifteenth ranked Blake Strode of Arkansas.

The match was back and forth, but Strode eventually took the upper hand with a pair of breaks in the last set.

"It was anybody's match there for a while," Pollock said. "I was up a break and I played a loose game on my serve to get broken back. You just can't do that at this level. My forehand kind of broke down a little towards the end. I missed a lot of balls. Give Blake a lot of credit. He's a great athlete and played a great match."

With the loss, Pollock's historic career came to an end. He was a three time All American, and was only one of four Aggies to ever make three or more All-American teams. He is tied for tenth most singles wins in A&M history with 65, and Pollock is fourth all time in singles victories with 67.

"I had a great career and I'm going to miss it a lot," Pollock said. But, it's time to move on and see what the future holds for me on the professional tennis circuit."
